An online meeting of the members of the Iranian embassy in Iraq was held with the chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province.

In this online meeting, Hujjatul Islam wal-Muslemin Gholamreza Abazari, the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural counselor in Iraq, and Dr. Mohammad Javad Najafi, the head of the scientific and academic department of the cultural counseling of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq, negotiated and discussed the chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, the head of the office of the Supreme Leader Representation in universities, a group of members of the board of directors, and the director of international affairs of the university.

In this meeting, the chancellor of the university explained the university's capacities in various educational, research, and medical tourism sections, as well as successful health models.

Prof. Aarabi added: The presence of faculty members and top professors, degrees of education from undergraduate to doctoral levels, attracting international students from Pakistan and Afghanistan studying in this university, getting scientific rank below 1000 in the Times global ranking system in 2023, and obtaining the license of IPD (the admission of international patients in the International Patient Department) are among the capacities of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences to attract international students and foreign patients.

Hujjatul Islam wal-Muslemin Gholamreza Abazari, the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural counselor in Iraq, also said in this meeting: Provision of comfort and accommodation facilities, the presence of an Arabic language translator, an active site to introduce the capacities of the university and tourism of the province, and communication with intermediary companies are effective in attracting Iraqi students and Iraqi patients to Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences.

He added: Increasing interaction and cooperation between the universities of the two countries, providing services in some wards of the 210-bed hospital in Najaf by Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences, and providing conditions for the presence of travelling professors in Iraqi universities are other vital issues.

Dr. Mohammad Javad Najafi, the head of the scientific and academic department of the cultural counseling of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq, also said in this meeting: The conclusion of cooperation agreements between the universities of the two countries, participation in international exhibitions in Iraq, and two-way in-person visits of academic officials of both countries can be effective in facilitating relationships.
