Performing the First Advanced Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) Surgery in Boroujen
Dr. Parivash Nourizadeh, an ophthalmologist, said: The first Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) surgery for lacrimal duct obstruction in the nasal endoscopic method was successfully performed in Vali Asr Hospital of Boroujen.
Explaining this news, Dr. Nourizadeh stated: The rare Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) surgery in the nasal endoscopic method is a surgery that restores the normal flow of tears through the tear ducts to the nose and heals excessive tears.
She added: This operation was successfully performed for a 60-year-old man with the cooperation and efforts of Dr. Sarwar, an otolaryngologist, and Dr. Panahi, an anesthesiologist, in the operating room of Vali Asr Hospital of Boroujen.
Stating that this patient had a history of bilateral lacrimal duct closure and had treated the left side with open surgery in the past years, Dr. Nourizadeh said that by this rare surgery performed in the nasal endoscopic method, the obstruction of the right duct was removed internally without sutures or opening.
Dr. Nourizadeh added: This surgery lasted for an hour and a half with government tariffs, and the patient was discharged from the hospital in good general condition.
